Research Programmer
Performance Engineering and Computational Methods Group
Overview:
Work with computational science research groups to assist in enhancing performance of their codes, with a special focus on advanced cluster architectures and large shared memory systems. Provide very high level of support to a few computational science teams, to be identified by management of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications. Use available software tools to analyze performance of codes. Recommend effective parallel algorithms for users. Contribute to the Performance Engineering and Computational Methods group's effort in identifying parallel libraries, installing them, and helping users to use them effectively. Contribute to benchmarking efforts, as required. Contribute to NCSA training, as required. Conduct research and publish conference and journal papers, whenever possible. Participate in joint proposals submitted to funding agencies. Other duties as assigned. Master Degree and 5 years relevant experience.
