NLANR Offers End-to-End Performance Solutions

The National Laboratory for Advanced Network Research (NLANR) recently submitted a white paper that addresses how to improve end-to-end performance on high-performance backbone networks. The white paper is part of the End-to-End (E2E) performance initiative (http://www.internet2.edu/e2eperf/) coordinated by Internet2. The initiative was launched to focus on improving performance and methods of detecting problems on high-performance networks as more people gain access to them.

NLANR and other groups who attended a January planning meeting were asked to submit white papers that responded to three questions: (1) What are the key aspects of end-to-end performance that should be addressed in the E2E Initiative? (2) What are the proper success metrics for this initiative? (3) What criteria should be used in the call for participation?
