Power Outage Planned for November

To All NCSA HPC Users:

We are currently expanding the campus building that houses the NCSA computers. As a result we anticipate a power outage that will interrupt all NCSA computing services.

All NCSA high-performance computers including mass storage will be unavailable starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday 27 November 2000.

NCSA is reserving 3 days for this event, but will make every effort to keep the outage to a minimum. If all goes smoothly, the center will return to at least partial service within 24 hours.

• Jobs that will not complete before the power outage will not be allowed to start.
• All running jobs will complete before shutdown.
• Queued jobs will remain in the queues and will run after power is restored.
