March NRAC To Consider Requests on TSC1

The Alliance and NPACI recently announced that the March 2001 NRAC (National Resource Allocations Committee) will consider proposals requesting time on two Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) systems:

  1. T3E-900, with 512 application PEs, 23 command PEs, and 8 OS PEs
  2. TCS1 that is expected to have 64 4-way SMP nodes (AlphaServers) tied together with a Quadrics interconnect at the time of the March 2001 NRAC. Eventually, the TCS1 will have 682 nodes.

The March 2001 NRAC will accept proposals requesting 10,000 SUs or more on the TCS1. PIs with small allocation requests (fewer than 10,000 SUs on the TCS1) and who are potential future large users of the computer should submit proposals directly to the Pittsburgh Supercomputer Center.

To submit a request for a small allocation at PSC see their Starter Grant information.

For more information about the allocations process and NRAC, send email to the Allocations Office at NCSA.
