GRIDS Center Software Suite Release 5.1 Released

The National Middleware Initiative has announced the release of GRIDS Center Software Suite Release 5.1, an update in the NMI-R5 series. The product of sustained collaboration between multi-institutional teams at the GRIDS Center, NMI middleware is a key component in the construction of a persistent national middleware infrastructure. GRIDS Center Software Suite Release 5.1 provides crucial updates to the collection of infrastructure and application technologies that comprise NMI-R5 series.

Among the new features and enhancements are added support for Solaris 8, Solaris 9, and SuSE 8.1 on amd64 (Opteron). Updates to the following bundled components have also been made: Globus (3.2.1), GSI-OpenSSH (3.4), Condor (6.6.6), and UberFTP (1.9). New also in this release is a portable batch system (PBS) accounting component, which processes PBS information into a usable report-style format.
