Towns on Tour

In March 1999, NCSA Senior Associate Director John Towns traveled to Europe -- but not for a "Grand Tour" as visitors used to do one-hundred years ago. Instead he made stops at several high-performance centers that provide similar services to European computational researchers as NCSA and the Alliance do. He also made a presentation at an international conference sponsored by the SPEEDUP society.

Towns visited:

• Finland's Center for Scientific Computing (CSC)
• The Netherland's Stichting Academisch Rekencentrum Amsterdam (SARA)
• Switzerland's Swiss Center for Scientific Computing (CSCS)
