A summary report is required at the end of each project
award period. Please submit your progress or final report as an e-mail
attachment (PDF or MS Word file) and send it to allocati@ncsa.uiuc.edu.
The report should be a maximum of five pages and should include the following
information:
- Principal and Co-Investigator information (name, institution, department,
phone, e-mail)
- Project information (title, start date of award, number of SUs awarded
on each system)
- A nontechnical summary (approximately one page, no more than two pages)
of your NCSA-sponsored research. This summary should be readable, i.e., understood
by the general public.
- Are there potential applications to industry or government from your work?
If yes, please describe.
- Can your research findings be used by public policy officials in the
development of state or federal policy or law? If yes, please describe.
- Describe the use of this allocation to encourage education in
computational science. Describe the involvement of students. Do
you have any plans to include aspects of high-performance computing in classes
that you will be teaching?
- Describe your efforts to optimize your codes to make efficient use of NCSA
resources. Do you need additional training or other support to help you
improve code performance?
- Has this allocation been useful in any way in securing funding for your
research efforts? Please list funding for which you have applied and funding
you have obtained based on this research (include primary and secondary
sponsoring agency/institution for the research, award number, size of award,
start and expiration dates). Do you anticipate using this allocation as
cost-sharing or evidence of support in proposals for future funding?
- List theses and publications (published, in press, submitted, or in
preparation) resulting from this allocation that reference NCSA. Also
include conference presentations based on NCSA-sponsored research. If
you have not already done so, please provide the NCSA Allocations Department
with pdf or Word versions of these publications.
- Please comment about the NCSA allocation process. Provide any
comments or suggestions that you have concerning NCSA support, training,
operations, or documentation.
