NCSA afs-info Mail List

This document describes what the afs-info mail list is for and how to subscribe to it. If there are any questions or problems with this document, then please contact afs@ncsa.uiuc.edu.



What is the afs-info list for?

The afs-info mail list is for disseminating information about AFS to NCSA administrators who run the AFS client on their machine (UNIX or NT). Here is a list of some of the information that will be distributed on this mail list.
  • When we get new versions of the AFS client.
  • New or updated documentation on the NCSA AFS home page.
  • Problems and solutions for client machines.
  • Other pertinent info for administrators of AFS clients.

How do I subscribe to afs-info?

Subscribing to the afs-info list is easy, just do the following:

Send a message to majordomo@ncsa.uiuc.edu with the following in the body of the message:

subscribe afs-info [email address]
If you don't replace [email address] with your own email address, Majordomo will use the e-mail address in the mail message header ("Reply-to:", if any, otherwise "From:") to subscribe to the list. And you do not need anything in the Subject: of the message.

How do I unsubscribe to afs-info?

Unsubscribing to the afs-info list is just as easy as subscribing:

Send a message to majordomo@ncsa.uiuc.edu with the following in the body of the message:

unsubscribe afs-info [email address]
If you don't replace [email address] with your own email address, Majordomo will use the e-mail address in the mail message header ("Reply-to:", if any, otherwise "From:") to unsubscribe to the list. And you do not need anything in the Subject: of the message.
