NCSA AFS Server Status
This page will list any scheduled downtimes for the AFS servers. If you are
experiencing a problem with AFS, then this is a good place to check and
see if a server was scheduled to be taken down. It will also keep a record
of the last couple scheduled downtimes.
Current scheduled downtimes:
October 27, 1999 : 11 pm
3 to 4 hours of intermittent outages of possibly all AFS servers.
Installing Y2K patches on all servers.
Upgrading AFS clients on all servers.
Other maintenance work on the machines.
Past scheduled downtimes:
October 18, 1999 : 12 midnight
1 hour outage of the machine jinx
Machine is switching from FDDI to 100bT subnet.
August 11, 1999 : 11pm
1/2 hour outage of the machine nile
Need to take broken DLT drive off of nile to be repaired. There will be
another short outage to out the DLT drive back on nile.
Friday, July 30th, 1999 : 1am
AFS servers congo and nile are going to be upgraded from FDDI to 100bT.

***Network Interruption Scheduled for Friday***
The NCSA Computing and Communications division reminds staff that there
will be a network upgrade to one of the subnets in ACB beginning at 1 a.m. Friday.
Because of the upgrade there may be interrmittent problems with some of the
machines in ACB, particularly the AFS servers and Kerberos servers. The
upgrade should be completed within a couple hours. Staff who experience
computer problems after 7 a.m. Friday should contact the helpdesk at
or 244-0710.
