NCSA AFS User Volume Location
We currently have AFS servers residing in two different buildings, Beckman
and ACB. It is going to be advantageous if your AFS user volume (home
directory) is located in the same building that your office is in. So,
for instance, if you work in Beckman and the network goes down between ACB
and BI you will still be able to read and write to your home directory if
your AFS user volume is on the AFS server in Beckman.
The following web page will tell you the location of your AFS user
volume and then you will be able to make a request to the AFS
administrators if you want it moved.
Check here for the location of your user volume (This requires
authentication).
Note:
Users in locations besides BI and ACB will most likely want their
volumes located in ACB.
