I am a senior research scientist in the Innovative Systems Laboratory at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, in 1997 and the M.S. degree from the Vynnychenko State Pedagogical University, Kirovograd, Ukraine, in 1993. My research interests include high-performance computing and special-purpose computing architectures; I work with computational scientists on the design and implementation of scientific applications and algorithms on accelerator-based computing architectures. Prior to joining the Innovative Systems Laboratory, I was with the NCSA Experimental Technologies Group where I led several research efforts on developing and applying advanced sensor and communication technologies for smart environments and high-end visualization and virtual reality systems for high-performance engineering applications.
